SUMMARY:Coppell Chamber Community Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:Identity Theft has become a problem that we routinely account for in our daily lives. We know that emails can "phish" for personal information. We shred financial and legal documents. We seek to safeguard our very identity. Sadly\, it has become a part of our daily life\, but at least we are aware of the risks and consequences.\n\n\n\nThere exists a new type of identity theft: "Corporate Identity Theft?. No matter the entity? corporation\, limited partnership\, limited liability company\, professional association\, cooperative\, or real estate investment trust ? the latest criminal activity involving identity theft could impact any Texas business or company. \n\nJudge Steve Seider will provide us with the recent background\, the risk factors\, the potential costs and possible counter-measures to help safeguard your company and your business. The information and expertise that Judge Seider has gleaned from actual cases in his court are invaluable\, he will share with us the lessons and costs that unsuspecting business owners have only learned after the fact. The victims of "Corporate Identity Theft" are not confined to the actual entity that has its identity stolen. Whether you are an attorney\, a business owner\, a landlord\, a real estate professional\, or an investor you will likely be shocked at this latest criminal endeavor? but... you will also be better prepared and forewarned. \n\n\n\nJudge Seider has been a licensed Texas attorney since 1991 and has served as our Justice of the Peace since 1999. Prior to taking the bench\, he was representing individuals and businesses in the private practice of law\; he began his legal career with the Dallas County District Attorney?s Office prosecuting child sex offenders. Judge Seider has served in many capacities to impact the community\, as well as improve the Texas judiciary-- including two terms as the Chairman of the Texas State Commission on Judicial Conduct. He has served with the Texas Justice Court Training Center as an instructor and as a member of the Education Committee\; he is recognized as a leader and innovator in justice court law and operations. \n\n\n\nJudge Steve Seider is the elected Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3\, Place 2 in Dallas County\; and while the court he presides over is located in Richardson\, Texas\, Precinct 3 includes the northern part of Dallas County\, including Coppell.\n\n\n\nSingle tickets to the luncheon are $25 if purchased in advance. Tickets are $30 at the door and registration is necessary to attend.
