Alberto Perez

Alberto Perez is a first-generation American, born and raised in Brownsville, Texas, on the southern border with Mexico. In his formative years, Perez learned the value of hard work from his parents and grandparents on both sides of the border.

Perez holds a Bachelor's of Business degree in Marketing from The University of Texas at Brownsville, where he was elected President of the Student Government Association. As president, he attended international and cultural events where he discussed matters of international relations with leaders from both sides of the border, promoted programs that benefited students at the university, and forged alliances with other universities to work for the development of resources for those that were in need. Perez also obtained a Master's of Business degree in Management from American Intercontinental University.

Perez and his family have lived in the Dallas area for over 15 years. For thirteen of those years, Perez has been a teacher and has taught in several school districts, chief amongst them, Dallas and Garland ISDs. In his time as a professional educator, Perez has also coached high school and club soccer, and he continues to give back to his community as a current US Soccer Federation referee in his 19th year.

Perez recognizes that Dallas is one of the major economic, political, and financial hubs in the US, and he hopes to use his formal education, his experience as a professional educator, and his bilingual and cultural skills to work for a stronger Dallas County.
