Name: Coppell Republican Women Dec 8 Meeting
Date: December 8, 2016
Time: 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM CST
Event Description:
Join the Coppell Republican Women as we celebrate our year of great meetings, new friends, and election success! We are so pleased to have Jacob Schick, a Coppell High School graduate, who will speak to us about 22Kill. Jacob deployed to in 2004 and was gravely injured by an IED just a few months after he arrived in Iraq. Jacob spent 3 months at Walter Reed Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland and 15 months at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. He had 46 operations, 23 blood transfusions and was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury. Jacob learned that telling his story was a way for him to heal from the depression set in during his physical recovery. Jacob has served as Executive Director for 22Kill since September 2015 and currently serves as an Ambassador for Carry the Load. 22Kill is a global movement that is bridging the gap between veterans and civilians to build a community of support. They work to raise awareness to the suicide epidemic that is plaguing our country, and educate the public on mental health issues such as PTS. Our annual holiday meeting and refreshments will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 6:30 pm. We will be meeting at the home of one of our members, so please watch your email and our website for the address. We will also swear in officers for the 2017-2018 club years. Please bring a friend!
